Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of qi-conducting and collateral-unblocking acupuncture in the treatment of idiopathic tinnitus. Methods:A total of 74 patients with idiopathic tinnitus treated at the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Shengzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from June 2024 to May 2025 were selected and randomly divided into the observation group and the control group using the random number table method, with 37 cases in each group. The observation group received qi-conducting and collateral-unblocking acupuncture (including abdominal acupuncture, local needling, nine needling for regulating the spirit, acupoint selection based on syndrome differentiation,warm needle moxibustion,and local flash cupping behind the ear),while the control group received Mecobalamin Tablets. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The Tinnitus Evaluation Questionnaire (TEQ),Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI),Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) for tinnitus loudness,and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Clinical efficacy and safety were also evaluated. Results:After treatment,the total effective rate was 89.19% (34/37) in the observation group and 43.24% (16/37) in the control group,with a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05). After treatment,the TEQ,THI,VAS,and PSQI scores in both groups decreased compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the TEQ,THI,VAS,and PSQI scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). No significant adverse reactions occurred in either group during treatment. Conclusion: Qi-conducting and collateral-unblocking acupuncture can alleviate the severity of tinnitus and improve sleep quality in patients with idiopathic tinnitus,thereby enhancing clinical efficacy,and its safety is good.
