Effect of Auricular Point Seed-Pressing Therapy Combined with Cognitive Training on Cognitive Function and Sleep Quality in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effect of auricular point seed-pressing therapy combined with cognitive training on cognitive function and sleep quality in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Methods:A retrospective study was conducted on 112 TBI patients treated in the Department of Rehabilitation of Jinhua Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2021 to May 2024. They were divided into a control group and a combination group according to different treatment methods,with 56 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the combination group received additional auricular point seed-pressing therapy and cognitive training based on the control group's treatment. Both groups were treated for four weeks. Clinical efficacy was evaluated,and the Mini- Mental State Examination (MMSE), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores were compared between the two groups. Results: At three months after treatment, the total effective rate was 94.64% (53/56) in the combination group,higher than 82.14% (46/56) in the control group (P< 0.05). At one month and three months after treatment,MMSE and MoCA scores gradually increased over time in both groups,while PSQI scores gradually decreased over time (P<0.05). At one month and three months after treatment, the combination group showed higher MMSE and MoCA scores and lower PSQI scores than the control group at the same time points (P<0.05). Conclusion: Auricular point seed-pressing therapy combined with cognitive training has a positive effect on the rehabilitation of TBI patients, significantly improving cognitive function and sleep quality, and enhancing clinical efficacy.
