Introduction to LIN Yuanfang's Experience in Treating Cervicogenic Vertigo Using Spinal Adjustment and Curve Correction Based on the Sinew Channel Theory
Abstract: This article introduces Professor LIN Yuanfang's clinical experience in treating cervicogenic vertigo using spinal adjustment and curve correction based on the sinew channel theory. Professor LIN proposes that the spine and sinew channels,as two major systems of the human body,are interdependent and mutually constraining,jointly maintaining normal physiological functions. The main pathogenesis of cervicogenic vertigo involves sinew knots and adhesions,imbalance between sinews and bones,and disharmony of qi and blood. He emphasizes the application of the "holistic perspective of sinew channels-spine" for syndrome differentiation and treatment, adjusting the "form and structure" of the spine and sinew channels as a whole to ensure the unity of morphology and function. Therefore, the general principles of spinal adjustment and curve correction in clinical practice include releasing sinews,setting bone and adjusting curves, and functional exercises. These are achieved through manual manipulation and acupuncture to release soft tissue adhesions and restore mechanical balance;bone-setting techniques to correct spinal stress disorders; traction with therapeutic devices to improve spinal curves; and guiding patients in functional exercises to achieve holistic adjustment of the spine for favorable outcomes.
