Introduction to CHEN Hongfeng's Experience in Treating Aromatase Inhibitor-Related Musculoskeletal Syndrome of Breast Cancer Based on Liver-Kidney Homology
Abstract: This paper introduces the clinical experience of Professor CHEN Hongfeng in treating aromatase inhibitor-related musculoskeletal syndrome (AIMSS) of breast cancer based on liver-kidney homology. Professor CHEN Hongfeng holds that AIMSS of breast cancer falls into the categories of Ruyan (breast cancer) and Gubi (bone impediment) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Based on the theory that liver and kidney are both the congenital foundation for women,Professor CHEN believes that essence and blood of liver and kidney generate each other,with storing and discharging mutually regulating; liver-kidney insufficiency and deficiency with dysfunction are the main pathogenesis of this disease. Therefore,in clinical practice,she emphasizes the formulation principle of mother-organ generating child-organ, regulates yin and yang through liver and kidney, nourishes water to enrich wood, thereby consolidating healthy qi. She has formulated Yishen Tiaogan Prescription and treats AIMSS of breast cancer with modified application according to symptoms.
