Abstract: Cervical and shoulder myofascial pain syndrome is one of the common clinical conditions, primarily characterized by pain in the neck and shoulders, limited mobility, and other symptoms. Based on the meridian sinew theory, this article posits that its pathogenesis is due to the invasion of external pathogenic factors such as wind, cold, dampness, and heat, which leads to meridian and collateral obstruction, qi and blood stasis blockage, resulting in meridian sinew disorders. Therefore, under the guidance of the meridian sinew theory,in clinical practice, emphasis is placed on identifying the meridian and sinew nodes. According to the basic treatment principle of "selecting the lesion as the acupoint, " the blade needling is used to disperse the sinew nodes along the meridian sinew pathways in the cervical and shoulder regions. This stimulates the meridian qi of the foot-taiyang meridian and activates the qi and blood of the three yang meridians, thereby achieving the effects of dispelling wind and dispersing cold, unblocking the meridian and sinew, and regulating systemic qi movement and harmonizing the nutritive qi.
