Abstract:By tracing the development of the "blood-fluid co-disease" theory from the pre-Qin period to the Ming and Qing dynasties, and reviewing the clinical application and fundamental research progress of the "craniocerebral fluid-stasis" theory in traditional Chinese medicine for treating brain disorders, combined with modern medical understanding of the key pathological changes of "cerebral edema-intracranial hypertension-herniation formation" after severe acute brain injury, the authors propose that applying the principle of promoting blood circulation and dispelling fluid retention based on the "craniocerebral fluid-stasis" theory can offer a new therapeutic approach for managing severe acute brain injury in clinical practice.
