Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the combination of Tianxiong Dingxuan Decoction and finger acupoint pressing on vertigo of phlegm-stasis blocking the orifices type. Methods: A total of 84 patients with vertigo of phlegm-stasis blocking the orifices type admitted to the Department of Encephalopathy, Zhanjiang Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2024 to May 2025 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group by the random number table method, with 42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with routine western medicine, and the observation group was treated with Tianxiong Dingxuan Decoction combined with finger acupoint pressing based on the treatment in the control group. The course of treatment in both groups was two weeks. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was evaluated;the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores, the blood flow velocity of vertebral artery and basilar artery, and serum hypersensitive C-reactive protein (hs- CRP) levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups;the incidence of adverse reactions was recorded. Results: The total effective rate was 92.86% (39/42) in the observation group, higher than that of 76.19% (32/42) in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05), and the above scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the peak systolic velocity (Vs), end diastolic velocity (Vd) and mean velocity (Vm) of vertebral artery and basilar artery in the two groups were increased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);the Vs,Vd,and Vm of vertebral artery and basilar artery in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the hs-CRP levels in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment (P<0.05),and the hs- CRP level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference being found in the comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: The combination of Tianxiong Dingxuan Decoction and finger acupoint pressing has a definite curative effect on vertigo of phlegm-stasis blocking the orifices type, which can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and the cerebral blood perfusion of patients, and reduce the inflammatory responses, and is easy to operate and safe.
