Abstract:This article introduces Professor FU Wenbin's clinical experience in treating pediatric tic disorder using the "first acupuncture, second refined moxibustion, third consolidation" integrated acupuncture and moxibustion therapy. Professor FU believes that the basic pathogenesis of pediatric tic disorder lies in emotional constraint and heartgallbladder disharmony. The key pathological link is yang qi stagnation and failure to nourish sinews and vessels. Treatment should follow the principle of regulating the heart and gallbladder and warming and unblocking yang qi. The therapeutic approach consists of:first, acupuncture to regulate the heart and gallbladder, with emphasis on regulating the spirit, using Baihui( GV20) point,Yintang( EX-HN3) point,Touwei( ST8) point, and Jiuwei( CV15) point as the five spirit-regulating acupoints, supplemented by eight confluent points with modifications according to symptoms; second, refined moxibustion to address yang aspects, focusing on unblocking and warming yang, often selecting Sihua (BL17,BL19) points,Yaoqi (EX-B9) point,Xuanzhong (GB39) point, and Yongquan (KI1) point as main acupoints;third, consolidation therapy using acupoint embedding pressure to enhance therapeutic efficacy, commonly employing intradermal needle embedding at Jueyinshu (BL14) point and Yanggang (BL48) point, and auricular point pressing with heart, gallbladder, and brain as main points.
